Why Tamarindo
Tamarindo is a laid-back beach town on Costa Rica's Pacific coast in Guanacaste. It's known for golden sunsets, easy surf for beginners, great restaurants and a friendly, pura vida pace.
The dry season (roughly December through April) brings sunny days, and the green season (May through November) brings lush scenery, afternoon showers and fewer crowds. Every season has its charm.
✈️ Getting here
Fly into Liberia (LIR). Guanacaste Airport in Liberia is about 55 miles from the house, roughly a 75-minute drive. Rent a car at the airport or book a shuttle, and we're happy to share who we use.
San José (SJO) is an option too, but plan on a 4–5 hour drive.
