Our family's home away from home in Tamarindo, Costa Rica
Casa Doce is a brand-new home in Tamarindo, completed in 2023, with clean modern style, a fully equipped kitchen and plenty of room to spread out. The main house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and a separate casita adds a private bedroom and bathroom, perfect for grandparents, a couple, or anyone who likes a little extra space.
Life here centers on the private courtyard: a pool to cool off in, a covered patio for long dinners outside, and a view of the mountains beyond. Most mornings start with the howler monkeys calling from the trees while the coffee brews.
Everything you need is close by. Restaurants, coffee shops and a small grocery store with all the essentials are within walking distance, and the beach is less than a mile away. Playa Tamarindo is perfect for sunset walks and beginner surf lessons, and Playa Langosta, Playa Grande, Avellanas and Conchal are an easy drive for a day of exploring.
Spend your days between the pool and the beach, then come home for an outdoor shower and a sunset dinner.

A few things to help everyone, including the neighbors and the monkeys, enjoy Casa Doce.
Treat Casa Doce like your own home
Please be careful with furniture, décor, linens and household items, and let us know right away if anything gets damaged.
Air conditioning
Keep doors and windows closed while the A/C is running, and turn off units in rooms you're not using. Each bedroom unit runs on its own, and turning the temperature down too far can make it freeze up.
Pool & outdoor areas
Only the plastic drinkware near the pool, please (no glass). No diving or running, always supervise children, and bring pool towels back inside. Please keep wet towels and swimsuits off the indoor furniture.
Beach days
Shake off the sand before coming in and use the outdoor shower. Please use the beach towels, not the house towels, at the beach.
Guests
Only registered overnight guests may stay at the house. Check with us before having visitors over, and no parties or large gatherings.
Safety & security
When you head out, lock the doors and windows, set the alarm, turn off the A/C and extra lights, and keep valuables out of sight.
Be a good neighbor
Keep outdoor music and noise considerate, especially in the evening.
No smoking
Casa Doce is a non-smoking home, and that includes vaping indoors.
Housekeeping
Our housekeepers and landscapers may stop by on their regular schedule. Please let them in and treat them kindly.
A little Costa Rica reminder
Geckos and insects are part of life here. Keep doors closed, store food in sealed containers or the fridge, and please don't feed the monkeys or other wildlife.
Trash & food
Don't leave food or trash outside, and follow the trash and recycling instructions at the house.
Plumbing
Please follow the bathroom instructions posted at the house. Wipes, feminine products and anything other than toilet paper shouldn't be flushed.
Before you leave
- Put used towels where instructed
- Take out the trash
- Wash or load the dishes
- Take any food you bought out of the fridge
- Turn off the A/C and lights
- Lock the doors and windows
- Check for chargers, passports and anything else you brought
